  • Overview

    The Claims Advocate is responsible for leading and developing our claims advocacy capabilities, providing coverage analysis, and supporting key client relationships for commercial lines (i.e., property and casualty), and financial lines (i.e., D&O/E&O Cyber).

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Support Producers and Account Executives
    • Develop client ready content, speaking engagements, white papers, etc.
    • Be visible in the insurance community as an expert in the practice or select industry segment
    • Analyze industry and regulatory trends and provide guidance to clients and Account Executives – quarterly “state of the market”
    • Establish relationship with clients to be able to respond to questions outside of specific claim scenarios (e.g. indemnification and contract issues)
    • Assist in evaluating and revising policy and endorsement language
    • Help resolve questions surrounding applications, warranty letters, disclosures to underwriters and related issues
    • Review and analyze potential claims
    • Communicate with clients regarding expectations and obligations (e.g., choice of counsel and panel counsel requirements, reimbursement rates, and settlement discussions)
    • Report claims and review insurer coverage position letter
    • Provide updates to insurers as required
    • Coordinate reimbursement and/or payment of fees and expenses
    • Track open claims
    • Utilize system capability (AMS/Vertafore) and properly to maintain complete and accurate claims data and documents

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 7+ year(s) of relevant legal and insurance coverage experience
    • Bachelor’s and JD Degrees are required
    • Experience with clients in the real estate and/or not for profit industries is preferred
    • Intermediate level of experience with Excel and PowerPoint
