  • Overview

    B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates is looking for a Construction Superintendent to supervise the field construction of a project in order to complete the work on time and within budget. The B. F. Saul Company is a locally owned, private real estate company with properties in the DC Metro Area.

     

     

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Oversight of current construction projects including
    -Base Building
    -Turnkey Tenant Improvements
    -Tenant Allowance projects
    -Capital Improvement projects

     

    Interact with Project Architects / Engineers / Civil
    -Review field conditions
    -Review plans for accuracy & quality control

     

    Interact with General Contractors / Vendors
    -Daily/Weekly project inspections to ensure compliance with Contract Documents
    -Daily/Weekly project inspections to ensure adherence to Project Schedule
    -Attend project Progress Meetings to be aware of and help resolve outstanding issues

     

    Interact with Building Engineers, as required, during construction projects
    -Initial Plan review
    -Field conditions
    -Coordinate building specific procedures between GC and Building Engineer
    -Wet pipe drain down/re-fills - Fire Sprinkler, Plumbing, Irrigation
    -Fire Life Safety – Fire Alarm tie-in, Fire Marshall inspections for Tenant/Capital Improvement projects

     

    Interact with local governing jurisdictions regarding
    -Inspections for Tenant improvement and Bond Release
    -Utility coordination
    -Assist Tenant or Construction Managers with new utility installation or service set up
    -Certificates of Occupancy

     

    Interact with Construction Managers
    -Provides progress status reports and photographs of active projects within B.F. Saul portfolio.
    -Assist with obtaining accurate field condition information for use with budgets/estimates

    Qualifications & Skills

    JOB REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS/ABILITIES):

    -Strong computer skills including; MS Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc.
    -Primavera scheduler experience is a plus
    -Strong interpersonal skills
    -Good communication skills (both orally & written)
    -Exceptional organizational skills is a must
    -Ability to take direction and move forward with a given task or project
    -Strong understanding of Contract Documents:
             Construction Contracts
             Construction Drawings
             Project Specifications
             Easements & Agreements
             Geo-technical Reports

    -Understanding of LEED Requirements a plus


    EXPERIENCE:

    3-5 years field experience with medium to large General Contractor as Project Manager or Project Engineer
