    B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates is looking for a driven Accountant I to join our Construction and Development department. Founded in 1892, the B. F. Saul Company is located in Bethesda, Maryland and is one of the most successful privately-owned real estate companies.


    This Accountant position requires application of general principles of cost accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems by performing the following essential job functions.

    Duties & Responsibilities


    • On a daily basis, work with vendors to process accurate invoices, manage purchase orders, and monitor job progress for overruns
    • Process check runs and monitor EAF’s, PO’s, and lien wavers weekly
    • Analyze Job Cost reports
    • Calculate and post capital management fees
    • Open A/P Audit
    • Reconcile Purchasing Card Statement to invoices paid
    • Prepare Purchase Card Activity and EAF Tracking reports
    • Prepare and reconcile Sales Tax payable
    • Report on and reconcile daily cash activity
    • Some filing, vendor set-up, journal entries, receipt deposit, capital escrow draws, special projects, and other administrative tasks as needed


    Qualifications & Skills



    • Communicate effectively with vendors, management and accounting staff
    • Input and access information in the Timberline and CTI system
    • Remain stationary at assigned post for extended periods of time
    • Focus on details; analyze and resolve numerical problems
    • Prioritize, organize and follow-up
    • Maintain confidentiality of pertinent company data
    • Work cohesively with other departments and co-workers as part of a diverse team
    • Effectively multi-task in order to manage a variety of deadline driven projects concurrently'


    • 1-3 years of experience in a similar or equal position to that of a Construction Accountant


    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four year college required, in accounting and/or finance preferred.
