    The Appraisal Manager will take the lead in managing the quarterly appraisal process for ASB Real Estate Investments, serving as the lead contact and intermediary between the firm's appraisal management firm, the Altus Group, and the investment team.  This professional will work primarily on behalf of the ASB's $7 billion core, open-ended investment vehicle, the ASB Allegiance Real Estate Fund. 

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Serve as the firm's primary contact to the Altus Group, ASB's independent appraisal management service provider.
    • Manage the timely engagement of MAI-certified, independent third-party appraisal companies to perform asset-level appraisal services
    • Provide pertinent information to the Altus Group and to third-party appraisers as necessary, required for the performance of complete and accurate appraisals. Information including but not limited to property financials, budgets, rent rolls, leases, capital expenditures, etc.
    • Facilitate the feedback loop between the firm's investment teams and Altus Group during the review, revision and finalization of asset appraisals, primarily leveraging the Altus Group's DataExchange system
    • Develop some independent expertise vetting and providing feedback on high-level appraisal assumptions and valuation metrics, in consultation with the investment team
    • Review, scrub and provide feedback on the accuracy and comprehensiveness of key deliverables submitted by the Altus Group and third-party appraisers
    • Verify that updates and changes made to appraisals are accurate and consistent with property operations and prior discussions
    • Track and update firm databases and assist in the reporting of portfolio appraisal-related data leveraging those databases as well as the Altus Group's DataBridge system

    Qualifications & Skills


    • Deep expertise with respect to commercial real estate appraisal/valuation methodologies
    • Strong working-knowledge of Argus Enterprise
    • Able to manage a high-volume, fast-paced workload
    • Superior time management skills
    • Detail-oriented with zero-error tolerance
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills



    • 5+ years of direct commercial real estate valuation experience



    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • MAI designation desirable
