    The Kennedy-Warren (KW) is a historic eleven-story apartment building in Washington, D.C.  It is located between the Cleveland Park and Woodley Park neighborhoods and is home to 450 residents.   One of the many amenities available to residents is the KW Club bar, open exclusively to residents and their guests on Tuesday – Saturday nights from 4pm-11pm.  This position maintains the residents' standard of excellence by delivering classic drinks and exceptional customer service.  



    Duties & Responsibilities

    Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:


    • Greet guests and take beverage orders with a high level of professionalism
    • Mix drinks as ordered and in compliance with company standards
    • Maintain stock, prepare, and store all fresh fruit garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
    • Prepare daily Hors d'oeuvre item and display with necessary accompaniments
    • Collect payments and process using POS system
    • Ensure that the bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests upon opening and closing, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies
    • Lock up and store all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drop
    • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of beverage products, menus and promotions
    • Maintain a clean working area by wiping down all surfaces, washing and polishing the glasses, etc. as needed
    • Enforce club rules and regulations
    • Adhere to D.C., federal, and corporate liquor regulations and health codes

    Qualifications & Skills


    • Technical proficiency in the preparation of beverages
    • The desire to continually learn, and educate others, about wine and spirits
    • A detail-oriented work ethic
    • A keen ability to problem solve and work efficiently with little direction
    • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Outstanding teamwork skills and a positive attitude
    • An ability to be attentive to our residents needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed
    • Strong knowledge of, and ability to adhere to, liquor laws and health codes
    • Experience in fine dining is a plus



    • Active ABRA and DCRA approved ABC Bar Manager’s License preferred or to acquire within one month of hire
    • Active TIPS Alcohol Certification required within one week of hire
    • Active SafeServ Food Protection Certification required within one week of hire
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
