    An upscale, private club in a NW D.C. residential building is looking for a floater bartender.  The club includes a piano bar lounge and an adjoining ballroom that may be used by members to host special events.  All shifts start promptly at 4:30 p.m.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Greet guests and take beverage orders with a high level of professionalism
    • Mix drinks as ordered and in compliance with company standards
    • Maintain stock, prepare, and store all fresh fruit garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
    • Prepare daily Hors d'oeuvre item and display with necessary accompaniments
    • Collect payments and process using POS system
    • Ensure that the bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests upon opening and closing, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies
    • Lock up and store all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drop
    • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of beverage products, menus and promotions
    • Maintain a clean working area by wiping down all surfaces, washing and polishing the glasses, etc. as needed
    • Enforce club rules and regulations
    • Adhere to D.C., federal and corporate liquor regulations and health codes

    Qualifications & Skills

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in fine dining or craft cocktail bartending using a POS
    • Technical proficiency and creativity in the preparation of beverages
    • The desire to continually learn, and educate others, about wine and spirits
    • A detail-oriented work ethic
    • A keen ability to problem solve and work efficiently with little direction
    • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Outstanding teamwork skills and a positive attitude
    • An ability to be attentive to our residents needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed
    • Strong knowledge of, and ability to adhere to, liquor laws and health codes

     

    EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

    • Active ABRA and DCRA approved ABC Bar Manager’s License preferred
    • Active TIPS Alcohol Certification required
    • Active SafeServ Food Protection Certification required
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
