Responsibilities include 7x24x365 Data Center Operations, Network Monitoring, System Monitoring, Hardware Upgrades, Software upgrades, System Upgrades and Providing Help Desk Support to all Users at Headquarters, Hotels, Office and Industrial, Residential and Saul Centers. The Following is a more detailed list of duties and responsibilities of the Network Group Support. Part of the responsibilities is to understand Sarbanes-Oxley ACT sections that apply to financial reporting controls. Network System Engineers must understand, follow, and assist in the development of all policies and procedures as outlined in the published IT SOP document.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Network Systems

  • Setup, Upgrade and Monitor Routers, Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems and Switches

Email Systems (Blackberry, Exchange)

  • Setup Email Boxes
  • Configure Handheld Blackberry’s
  • Manage Group Memberships
  • Monitor and Control Content
  • Scan for Viruses in Emails

Network File Servers (File and Print)

  • Setup Shares
  • Monitor Hard Drive usage
  • Setup Applications that are File based

Web Servers

  • Setup Internet Information Server
  • Monitor Performance
  • Setup Web Sites

Database Servers

  • Setup SQL Server
  • Tune and monitor Performance
  • Backup Databases

Application specific Servers (Delphi Sales System)

  • Setup Users
  • File upgrades to Documents

Workstations and Laptops

  • Configure Hardware
  • Setup Systems
  • Configure Software
  • Test system
  • Deploy to User
  • Train User on Basic Operation

Existing Systems Maintenance

  • Day-to-Day systems checks
  • Server services start-up validation
  • Scheduled Job completion status checks
  • Database backup validation and integrity checks Database Server log Auditing
  • Server Event Log Auditing
  • Web Server Log Auditing
  • IT Ticket request processing
  • Site to Site Connectivity testing
  • Network System Utilization
  • Hard Drive Space Utilization
  • Hard Drive Physical checks
  • Server Room Equipment
  • Server room Temperature
  • Daily Systems Checklist
  • Offsite Tape Management – Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly. Yearly
  • UPS and Power Monitoring
  • Backup systems and Tape Management
  • Email Systems tested
  • Virus systems Updated Hourly and monitored
  • Intrusion Prevention System Monitored
