Overview

The Interactive Marketing Associate is a critical role in the overall, coordinated Interactive Marketing department of the Hospitality Group, as well as a key support function for the direct sales effort.  This position will work very closely with the rest of the corporate Interactive Marketing team to ensure that marketing strategies are aligned, effective, and executed in a timely manner. As a part of the Interactive Marketing team, this position will work collaboratively with Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Revenue Management teams to provide high-quality support and services.

Duties & Responsibilities

Website Management and Optimization

Execute website operations, including: day-to-day edits and enhancements, online placement, and new content creation.

  • Manage partners and vendors to maximize website visibility and user experience
  • Work closely with property management and sales staff to update content
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to strategically promote special offers and packages

 

Local Search and Partner Site Listing Management

Proactively manage the accuracy, placement, and optimization of portfolio content and listings on major digital channels.

  • Ensure that the portfolio's listings are optimized, accurate, and appealing to the website user
  • Research and utilize all channel tools available to maximize return on investment

Such listings include (but not limited to):

    • Hotel Brands: Marriot, Hilton, IHG
    • OTAS: Expedia, Hotels.com, Booking.com
    • Travel: Trip Advisor, Yelp, Opentable
    • Partners: Cvent, WeddingWire

 

Website Analytics Reporting

Support property sales team efforts, including compiling and translating data, communicating best practices, and gap-filling as needed.

  • Work with the Interactive Marketing Team to assembly monthly performance reports for each property and the portfolio
  • Identify trends and opportunities from the data available, and implement updates and changes to marketing programs to maximize return on investment

 

Email Marketing and Social Media

Champion email marketing and social media efforts for the Hospitality Group and portfolio.

  • Collaborate with internal and property sales teams to develop, schedule and disseminate email campaigns and social media content
  • Be a conduit between the corporate interactive marketing team and field to leverage all available channels and tools, including the development of targeted landing pages, call-to-action forms, etc.
  • Utilize brand resources to communicate with reward members
  • Develop strategies to grow and segment email databases and social media followers

 

Marketing Collateral Design and Support

Support in creating of marketing campaigns as directed by the Director of Interactive Marketing, V.P. of Sales and Marketing, the Director of Food & Beverage and or/as required from the field in sales effort.

  • Be the point person for online and off-line promotional marketing needs
  • Synchronize materials to ensure coordination among the portfolio, as well as compliance with hotel brand standards and marketing best practices
  • Leverage all available printed promotional materials available through the Hotel brand and partner channels
  • Collaborate with third party graphic design and print firms, as needed

 

 

Photography and Implementation

Assist with photo shoots, including scheduling, planning, and on-site coordination. Provide photography support as needed at company and property events.

  • Communicate regularly with property and sales teams to ensure photography needs are being met, including planning and budgeting for future photography needs
  • Work with photographer for pre-planning, set-up, and on-site execution of all photo shoots
  • Ensure that all new photography meets brand standards and requirements
  • Disseminate and manage photography assets on all channels to effectively position and sell the hotels, including independent and brand websites, digital channels and online directories

 

Other key marketing duties and responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management

Qualifications & Skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS/ABILITIES):

  • Excellent writing skills; the Interactive Marketing Manager will be responsible for content on public facing websites and digital channels
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; this position will be in regular contact with the Corporate Director of Interactive Marketing and the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, as well as B. F. Saul Company senior management and field based team members

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Recent graduates, 1-3 years of professional experience
  • Experience with graphic design required
  • Prior experience with Adobe CreativeSuite, website design/content management systems and social media platforms
  • Experience in the fields of hospitality, travel and/or customer service preferred
  • Experience with Google Adwords and/or other digital certifications preferred
  • Exposure to managing digital and/or print marketing campaigns preferred
  • Professional photography and editing experience preferred

 

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
